I enjoy a good book and reading books around the period of history that I am interested is always a bonus reading Etty is just a privilege.
Etty’s dairies run from 1941 -1943 and tell the story Etty Hillesum a vibrant young Jewish woman who lived in Nazi occupied Amsterdam in the early 1940s and died in Auschwitz in 1943. In the months before she was arrested she underwent a profound transformation through psychotherapy. She refused to give into hate and in this way overcame the evil of the Holocaust.
Ettys faith when surrounded by one of the most vilest times in history is extraordinary and moving.
I can’t find the words to describe her and the book other than read it yourself.
